What makes LivTech unique is its R&D focus on stem cells/progenitor cells and carcinogenesis.

We separate stem and progenitor cells of mice or rats at high purity using a cell sorter and use them to explore candidate target molecules involved in carcinogenesis.

We then generate a variety of antibodies against the selected candidate target molecules and evaluate the candidate target molecules using these antibodies (analysis of target molecules expression). For promising candidate target molecules, we generate further antibodies using various methods and formulate an antibody panel based on binding affinity, epitopes, bioassays, etc. Antibodies that exert noteworthy anti-cancer effects are further screened in vivo using different cancer types. Antibodies selected through the in vivo evaluation protocol will be nominated as candidate products for clinical development and subjected to further analyses.

Many of the antibodies generated here can also be utilized as diagnostic antibodies (for ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, western blotting). The generation of antibodies with anti-cancer activity can also serve as a platform for creating new seeds of drug research.
